Everybody, with the exception of people who love tans, would like to have bright radiant skin. Using excellent skin care products is only one step of many that you have to take if you want bright and glowing skin.

1. Your skin will reflect what you eat

Eat more foods high in healthy essential fatty acids, such as fish, walnuts and flax seed. The essential fatty acids contained in those foods are extremely important for healthy-looking skin because they help boost collagen production and help with cell formation deep under the skin’s surface. This slows down the aging process of your skin. You can think of it as feeding your skin from within.

2. Get rid of dead skin

One skin care tip that we always try and share is that you cannot moisturize dead skin. Dead skin is dead, dry and flaky and it’s not going to get better with moisturizer. If you don’t exfoliate, your flaky skin will always come back as soon as the moisturizer wears off.

Exfoliation is crucial to a brighter skin and you can exfoliate in many different ways. You can use a washcloth for gentle exfoliation; you can use a exfoliating cleanser, a exfoliating treatment product or go deeper with a skin care brush. If you exfoliate on a regular basis, you are consistently getting rid of the dead skin which is a key step to a brighter complexion. Just be careful not to exfoliate too often as this can irritate the skin.

3. Take enough Vitamin C

A healthy dose of orange juice loaded with Vitamin C is not only good for fighting off colds. Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that fights off the signs of aging and is also known to brighten your skin. Definitely something you want for your skin.

4. Moisturize!

You should wash your face everyday in the morning and in the evening. For women who wear makeup washing the face is a necessity. For men or women who don’t wear makeup, it gets rid of the oil and dirt that have accumulated on the skin’s surface. These oils and dirt can clog pores and leave a bogged down dull skin.

Washing the facial skin reduces natural oils on the surface and leaves it in need of a dose of a moisturizer. If you skip the moisturizer, your skin is more likely to look older, especially with visible fine wrinkles.

Use a daily moisturizer with SPF in the morning and a night time moisturizer before bed. This is the most basic skin care step: wash and moisturize. Consider our SPF 19 Sun Protection product.

5. Use a Brightening Mask

There are many different face masks for all skin types, from dry skin to oily skin. Many face masks brighten the skin complexion, but you can also make your own brightening face mask.

6. Try not to drink Alcohol

Alcohol will dehydrate and dull your skin. It will also increase the blood flow to the skin’s surface resulting in a flushed appearance that in the long run can become permanent. If you want healthy-looking skin, avoid alcohol all together.
